Information we collect

When you register or apply as a founder, join the Builders Network, or enquire about partnering with us, we collect the pathway you choose, your name, email address, optional location and links, your answers, your consent record, and an optional attachment (PDF, DOC, DOCX, PNG, JPG or WEBP, up to 10 MB). When you send an enquiry through the contact form, we collect your name, email address, optional organisation, the topic you choose, your message and your consent record. Technical security records may also be created to protect the forms from abuse.

Why we collect it and lawful basis

We process this information to assess fit, communicate with you, coordinate studio exploration, and maintain records of submissions. The lawful basis for processing your submission information is your explicit consent, which you provide when submitting your details.

Cookies and tracking

This website uses essential technical cookies and security tokens only (for spam and abuse prevention). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Pre-launch intake notice

Founder submissions made before January 2027 register interest. How long they are kept is set by legal review, like all retention policies.

Retention and deletion

Submissions and attachments are kept for a period determined by our operational requirements and external legal review. You may request deletion of your submission or attachment at any time by contacting us at hello@ighodalolabs.com quoting your reference. Detailed retention schedules are pending external counsel review (CrestHall Attorneys).

Your rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, you have rights regarding your personal data, including:

• The right to request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.

International data transfers

Our service infrastructure partners (including Supabase, Resend, Vercel, Cloudflare and Upstash) may process data in data centres located outside Nigeria. We ensure appropriate technical and contractual safeguards are in place with all service providers to protect your data according to applicable data protection standards.

Service providers

We use trusted infrastructure providers for secure database and private file storage, transactional email delivery, abuse prevention and edge hosting. Providers process information only as necessary to provide these services.

Analytics

The website does not currently use analytics. If privacy-friendly aggregate analytics are introduced, no applicant personal data or answers will be transmitted.

Security

Submissions are protected through encryption in transit, server-side validation, private attachment storage, access controls and abuse protection mechanisms.
